Taco Bar: 12 Recipes for Salsas, Guacamole and More
One of the most popular imports from Mexico is its food, especially tacos. Served by street vendors in Mexico, tacos here in the States are considered a fun food for parties. Nowadays you'll even find tacos served out of food trucks in all the major cities. A taco bar is a great idea for entertaining, because everyone can serve themselves. If you like, have both hard and soft, flour and corn tortillas available. For soft tortillas, it's best to serve them warmed (toast them either over a gas flame or in a dry skillet). And don't forget the toppings -- that's what it's all about!
Our recipes include all of the popular tacos: chicken, pork, beef and fish. We also have a wide selection of salsas: tomato, corn, mango, jicama and more. And don't forget the guacamole, which can serve as an appetizer dip as well as a topping. Be sure to also have on hand pickled onions, crema (or sour cream), cilantro, shredded lettuce and lime wedges. Plus no taco party could be complete without margaritas -- it's a refreshing way to end this meal.
